GENERAL FEATURES
RESONANT &
LIGHTWEIGHT TONEWOODS
Each Magneton guitar is made from the best materials available - sustainibly harvested and locally sourced whenever possible. The beautiful Swiss mountain forests are the best source for excellent sounding instruments
Every piece of wood is – without exception – personally selected by Andy and Giacun.
The criteria for choosing a piece of wood are:
Sound characteristics, resonance, structure, visual appeal and, last but not least, weight.
ONLY THIN LACQUER AND ALL NITRO!
Compared to a factory guitar wrapped in a thick and glossy layer of polyurethane (often a 1–1,5mm coat of hard plastic), the wood of a Magneton handbuilt guitar can breathe and sing.
Andy and Giacun appliy very thin coats of vintage style nitro lacquer to let the woods resonate.
That's a difference you can feel and hear.
STAINLESS STEEL FRETS
Every guitarist knows that the frets on his/her guitar have to be replaced at some point. Why? Because the (nickel) frets on 99.9% of guitars out there are simply weaker than the strings. That doesn't make any sense, except for beeing cheaper in production. This is simply not an option for us.
Magneton uses ultra-hard and durable stainless steel frets on all Necks. These frets last a lifetime.
Also they make bending a lot easier and sound exactly the same as standard frets.
Working on stainless steel frets is much time-consuming – the stuff is so hard! It simply means more hours of sweaty manual work and the frets are simply stronger than the files in the long run – and stronger than your strings, too.
All in all: More work for us, but best for your guitar!

BEST HARDWARE
POSSIBLE
For our handmade guitars, we select only the best components – functional and aesthetically!
Our saddles are handmade. Depending on your tonal preferences, we like to use bone, brass or graphite. The same goes for tuners, bridges and hardware in general: We've tried a lot and know what works and sounds best.
